The downside to any of these books for me is sometimes a simple illustration + a block of text really doesn't explain to me what to do. It can be confusing. This book just uses illustrations of the steps. I think with practice though, the steps will begin to make sense.
The book is is divided into three sections: an into, the projects, and a how to sew. The projects pages tell you which "how to sew" pages you should reference. So, it's best to read the entire book before you sit down to sew (which doesn't take long). It was has two positives: the number of projects - 30. they are dresses, skirts, jackets, pants, vest, pillows, curtains, aprons, and a bowtie. there is a range of difficulty so you can choose which projects you'd like based on your skill set. also, the book tells you what type of fabrics would work well for the project. the patterns are on an included disc with i felt was annoying at first, but i kind of like it now. you can print as many copies as you need for the various sizes you may need and will never need to trace/transfer a pattern! i think it's a great book to have because the projects really are lovely. and unlike some books i've seen wear the sewing looks cheap and the draping is wonky, this book models perfection.

The projects int his book are beautiful and varied but the instructions are horrendous. Upon first glance, they are detailed enough. A couple of times a step or two was skipped but even that I was willing to overlook. Unfortunately on three different occasions measurements on pattern pieces were an inch or more off, to the detriment of the project. I tried adjusting the seam allowances and sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. Beautiful book but there is little value in a poorly drafted pattern.
