Monday
Read the poem “My Elf” to 3 people.
Complete the response page.
Tuesday
Read the fluency passage. Time
yourself and write down the time.
Wednesday
Thursday
Do the Elf-Capades activity.
Read the fluency passage again.
Time yourself and write down the
time. Compare it to Tuesday’s time.
Parents: As your child
completes an activity, please
initial the box.
My Elf

A sneaky guy
in red and green
who’s never heard
but only seen.
Around my house
he sneaks about
making mischief
in and out.
The messes that
he leaves behind
I have to clean
as if they’re mine!

The Elf on the Shelf
Many families have an elf who comes to visit
them after Thanksgiving. He does silly things
and makes messes. He comes to watch the
kids and report back to Santa each night.
Some elves are very sneaky and get in lots of
trouble with the messes they make. Other
elves are shy and just sit on a shelf to watch.
Never touch the Elf on the Shelf or he will
lose his magic and he won’t be able to fly any
longer. What do you think of the Elf on the
Shelf?

Elf-Capades
Read each elf adventure to someone, then draw a picture
to match the elf’s mischief.
My elf put
marshmallows in the
sink and acted like it
was snow.
My elf made a mess in
my room. There were
toys everywhere!
My elf took a bath in
my mom’s best
teacup. It was so
funny!
My elf climbed on the
top of the Christmas
tree beside the star!
