Quality of Batik and Revitalize Local Culture

The objective of this community service is to assist the small industry to improvre the competence of
batik crafts women to increase the quality of batik Pacitan and to support the revitalization of wayang
beber as the local culture through the application of wayang beber motif on the local batik products.
This activity was undertaken in Pacitan in 2012. The small industries which become the partners in this
activity include UKM Batik Puri which is located in Cokrokembang Ngadirojo Pacitan and UKM Batik Saji
which is located in Sukoharjo Pacitan. Results of this IbM activity include the increasing number of batik
designs/motifs which are produced by both batik small industries, UKM Batik Puri and UKM Batik Saji,
particularly based on the application of wayang beber motif, and the number of stamps of batik motif
which are provided by the IbM team to support batik product diversification of the small batik industries.
