Introduction
Mental health is science and art that helps people to create accurate methods of
psychological and emotional that helps its environment more favorable for solving the

problems and solutions of their choice (Salahshoor, 2003). Nowadays, internet
addiction has been reported as a psychological disorder in medical science and
psychology. This disorder is a new form of addiction in recent years, that it has
attracted the researchers in the field of psychology, psychiatry, sociology. Internet
addiction is a problem that in different societies and cultures. The prevalence of this
problem has led to the identification of the causes, consequences and complications
investigated by researchers and practitioners (Atkinson, Rita and Atkinson, Richard,
Hilgard, Ernest 2001). Goldberg was the first can be used so-called Internet addiction
disorder, to introduce and identify characteristics of people who use the Internet to
show problems. He was the first who formed a group to support Internet addicts
(Byabangard, 2000). Internet addiction is a global phenomenon with different
prevalence levels and range from 5 to 25 percent of students in America, China,
Korea, UK, Australia, Taiwan, Japan, Eastern Europe and Western countries (Attaran,
2004). About the gender, some studies have shown that women are twice less than
men his Internet addiction (Alipur, 2002).Amichai Humber and Ben showed that
students who are excessively dependent on the Internet, feel lonely in terms of mental
health (Byabangard, 2000).
Hassan Zadeh and colleague’s study2012 showed there is a significant negative
correlation between Internet addiction and academic achievement. There are
significant differences in terms of Internet use between Male and female students and

Internet use was higher in boys than girls. Also, there is a significant and positive
correlation between internet addiction with neuroticism and agreeableness subscales
and there is significant and negative correlation between internet addiction with
conscientiousness and extraversion. There was no significant relationship between
internet addiction and openness in scale.
In another study of Hassan Zadeh et al. (2010), the relationship between excessive use
of technology (internet addiction and SMS) and educational and psychological
situation of students showed there isn’t a significant relationship between the
excessive use of the Internet and academic achievement. And also there is no
significant relationship between excessive use of text messaging and academic
achievement. But there was a significant relationship between excessive use of the
Internet and loneliness. There was a significant relationship between excessive use of
text messaging and loneliness. The excessive uses of the Internet are in girls more
than boys. And also the excessive uses of SMS are in girls more than boys. There is a
relationship between each of the components of SMS (emotional responses,
perception excessive use, maintain relations) and Internet addiction. There is a
relationship between each component of the SMS (addiction sms) and feel alone.
Studying background and previous research shows that Internet addiction is
associated with multiple variables. When the students enter the school and learn
technology and computer science, but excessive use of the Internet, increases the risk

of addiction Internet so study to examine the relationship between addiction internet
with academic achievement and mental health of high school students in Bandar
Abbas has been designed and implemented.

Health Questionnaire has 28 parts and 32% of the variance of the general health. The
reliability of the questionnaire by using Cronbach's alpha coefficient was calculated
0.86.

Hassanzadeh and colleagues (2012). According to the results of Tables 4 and 5 can be
