ABSTRACT
Few companies get obstacles in running the export activity both in internal and eksternal
activities. We need applicable strategy to cope with this condition. This research is aimed to get
description and detail data on the activities, obstacles as well as strategy used by water hyacinth
handy craftsmen in running their export. In this research, we focus on Aryani Art craftsmen.
Method used in this research is case study since we focus on certain object of study to
find detail analysis. Primary data are collected from interview and direct observation to all
craftsmen at Aryani Art.
Research result shows that Aryani Art has applied indirect export channel is believed
which can minimize several obstacles. (1) Standardization. (2) Functional obstacles aspects of
managerial and human resources. (3) Information obstacles to access international market and
export procedures, an internal factor which hampers export process at Aryani Art. While
external export obstacles included (1) Local Government Regulation inter relate to the unstable
price of raw materials especially in rainy season. (2) Illegal Retributions. Several obstacles
above can be solved by using is implemented strategies belong to Aryani Art
