ABSTRACT
The fumes as an industrial waste and motor vehicle exhaustcontainslead as major component.As the air
pollutan leadwill enterthe body though the lespirationor skin contact.The lead toxicity is proven to damage
the blood and tissues,causcsmany effccts suchasanenria,disruption ofred blood ccll and tissuenecrosis.This
studywas conductedto investigatethe effect of white turmeric extractto the ratblood which was exposedby gas
emissionof motorcycle.The 25 male Wistar ratswere usedas model and divided equally into 5 groups.Group
1,2,3and4 wele exposedwith gasemissionofmotorcycle for 30 minutesevery morning and evening,everyday
for 16 days.Gror.rp1,2and 3 were treatedwith 50, 100,and 200 mg/kg of body weight of white turmeric extract,
respectively.Group 4 and 5 received destilled water. On day 16, the blood sampleswere taken fi'om medial
canthusvein oforbital sinusto measurethe value ofHb, PCV total and differential count ofleucocytes.The one
way ANOVA analysisof Hb showed significant dill'erence(P
