Contoh: and, but, or, nor

Contoh Kalimat dengan
Co-ordinating Conjunctions:
 Sasa and her friends are coming to the
party.
 Nada raised her hand and snapped her
fingers.
 These shoes are old but comfortable.
 He wants to watch TV or (to) listen to
some music.


2. Subordinating Conjunctions
Menggabungkan kalimat dependen
(kalimat yang tidak bisa berdiri
sendiri) ke kalimat inti (main clause).
Contoh: although, because, as,
before, if, both ….

Contoh kalimat dengan
Subordinating Conjunctions:
 Ahmad was afraid because he saw
a ghost.
 If you switch on the current, the
room will be bright.

Makna Conjunctions
1. Contrast of ideas: but; and yet;
though; although.
He is intelligent but lazy.
2. Choice/absence of choice: or; either …

or; neither … nor
We will either give you cash or send you
a cheque.
Ito is neither her nor there.

3. Time: when; while; as; before; until;
after; since; till; whenever
Before you play outside, you must finish
your work.
4. Place: where; wherever
Wherever you go, I will follow.
5. Reason: because; as; since
