Social Forestry in various forms (Community Forestry, Community
Based Forest Management, Collaborative Management Forest) had
been implemented since many years ago in Indonesia.
The Forestry Act No. 41/1999, the Government
Regulation No. 6/2007 and the Ministerial
Regulation No. 37/2007 on Community Forestry
provide a Regulatory Framework for Community
Forestry in Indonesia through three schemes:
Hutan Kemasyarakatan (Community Forestry)
Hutan Desa (Village Forest)
Kemitraan (Collaborative Management Forest).
Social Forestry in Indonesia is not only aimed to alleviate the
poverty around forest village at an estimated + 40 million people
all over Indonesia, but it is also aimed to support and accelerate
process of reforestation in national scale.
