The information contained in Table E.4, namely the urn of the CRS of
the Definition of Well-known scale set GoogleMapsCompatible, is
incorrect and if used as an exemplar for coding could cause problems
with use of WMTS.
Summary of *
change:
The urn in Table E.4 is currently, urn:ogc:def:crs:EPSG:6.18:3:3857
this is incorrect as the colons denote seperation of urn items and
there is only one item between Authority (EPSG in this case) and Code
(3857 in this case). That item is Version Number which should be
6.18.3 NOT 6.18:3 . Version 6.18.3 of EPSG was implemented on 10 Feb
2009 (EPSG::3857 was added on 9 Feb 2009) however current version as
of 25 Aug 2012 is 8.0.
Consequences if Should the urn be used by GIS software vendors as an exemplar of how
to create WMTS then it will fail validation as it is incorrectly
not approved:
