Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh siswa yang tidak mengetahui permainan sepak
takraw dan saat pembelajaran siswa merasa bosan dan terlalu monoton sehingga
siswa kurang bersemangat dalam melakukan aktivitas pembelajaran. Dan juga
terlihat minat siswa terhadap permainan sepak takraw kurang . Pada pembelajaran
penjas di sekolah, metode pembelajaran yang digunakan pun lemah, karena hanya
memakai metode konvensional saja. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui
pengaruh model pembelajaran Teaqching Games For Understanding (TGFU)
terhadap hasil pembelajaran sepak takraw. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode
eksperimen kuantitatif dan desain penelitian Pretest-Postest Group Design.
Populasi penelitian siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 CIPANAS dan sampel kelas VIII
sebanyak 80 siswa dengan teknik pengambilan Simple Random Sampling. Sampel
diberi tes awal dan tes akhir dengan tes Game Performance Assessment
Instrument. Berdasarkan hasi analisis data penelitian, diperoleh data thitung =
33,956 > ttabel = 2,000. Hasil akhir membuktikan bahwa model pembelajaran
Teaching Games For Understanding (TGFU) memberikan pengaruh signifikan
terhadap hasil pembelajaran sepak takraw.

A background of this research is student who didn’t know about Sepak Takraw
game, student who felt bored when learning has begin, and application of
learning model which make student haven’t enthusiasm in learning process. And
then, have to be seen a student’s interest of Sepak Takraw game is lacked. The
sport learning in school, learning method used is weak, beacuse teachers just used
conventional learning method. The purpose of this research is to know the impact
of Teaching Games For Understanding (TGFU) Learning Model to Sepak
Takraw Learning Result. Then, in this research used quantitative experimental
research methods and Pretest-Postest Group Design. The population of this
research are second grade students at 1 Junior High School Cipanas and the
sample are 80 students with Simple Random Sampling technique. Students had
given pre-test and post-test with Game Performance Assessment Instrument. From
the analysis of research data obtained that tcalculate = 33,956 > ttable = 2,000. It means
that Teaching Games For Understanding (TGFU) learning model can give
significant impact for Sepak Takraw learning result.
