dilatarbelakangi oleh beragamnya strategi penelusuran yang dapat digunakan
dalam menelusur informasi di e-journals guna memenuhi kebutuhan informasi
pemustaka. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara
penggunaan search features e-journals dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi
pemustaka. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan
kuantitatif yang bertujuan, (1) Untuk mengetahui hubungan penggunaan search
features e-Journals dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi mutakhir pemustaka,
(2) Untuk mengetahui hubungan penggunaan search features e-journals dengan
pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi rutin pemustaka, (3) Untuk mengetahui
hubungan antara penggunaan search features e-journals dengan pemenuhan
kebutuhan informasi mendalam pemustaka, (4) Untuk mengetahui hubungan
penggunaan search features e-journals dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi
sekilas pemustaka. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pemustaka pada UPT BIT
LIPI Bandung yaitu peneliti dan mahasiswa, dengan jumlah sampel sebnayak 75
orang yang ditentukan dengan menggunakan rumus dari Yamane. Sampel
mahasiswa sebanyak 56 dan peneliti sebanyak 19. Teknik pengambilan sampel
dilakukan dengan cara Probability sampling dengan menggunakan teknik
proportionate stratified random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang
digunakan adalah teknik angket kepada pemustaka dan wawancara kepada kepala
seksi PKIT . Hasil dari analisis data diketahui penggunaan search features ejournals memiliki hubungan yang sedang dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan
informasi pemustaka. Hasil pengujian rumusan masalah khusus menunjukkan (1)
penggunaan search features e-Journals memiliki tingkat hubungan yang sedang
dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi mutakhir pemustaka, (2) penggunaan
search features e-Journals memiliki tingkat hubungan yang rendah dengan
pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi rutin pemustaka, (3) antara penggunaan search
features e-journals memiliki tingkat hubungan yang rendah dengan pemenuhan
kebutuhan informasi mendalam pemustaka, (4) penggunaan search features eJournals memiliki tingkat hubungan yang rendah dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan
informasi sekilas pemustaka. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang
signifikan antara penggunaan search features e-journals dengan pemenuhan
kebutuhan informasi pemustaka pada UPT BIT LIPI Bandung.

ABSTRACT
Hana Wandari (2014), Relationship Between The Use of e-Journals Search
Features with The Fulfillment of The Visitor's Information Needs
(Descriptive Study on UPT BIT LIPI Bandung). Undergraduate thesis of the
Library and Information Science study program, Department of Curriculum
and Technology Education, Faculty of Education, Indonesia University of
Education, Bandung, 2014. The background of this research is the diversity of
the search strategy that can be used in searching information on the e-journals to
meet the information needs of the visitors. This study was conducted to determine
the relationship between the use of e-journals search features to meet the visitor's
information needs. This study used a descriptive method with a quantitative
approach that the aims are, (1) To determine the relationship between the use of eJournals search features with the fulfillment the up to date visitor’s information
needs, (2) To determine the relationship between the use of e-journals search
features with the fulfillment of the visitor’s routine information needs, (3) To
determine the relationship between the use of e-journals search features with the
fulfillment of the visitors in-depth information needs, (4) To determine the
relationship between the use of e-journals search features with the fulfillment of
the visitor’s overview information needs. The population in this study was the
visitors on UPT BIT LIPI Bandung that researchers and students, with a total
sample of 75 people determined by using the formula of Yamane. The samples
were 56 students and 19 researchers. The sampling technique was conducted by
using sampling probability with proportionate stratified random sampling
technique. Data collection techniques that were used are questionnaires technique
to the visitors and interview to the section chief of PKIT. From the results of the
analysis of the data it could be found that the use of search features of e-journals
had correlation with fulfillment of the visitor's information needs. The testing
results of the specific formulation of problem shows that (1) The use of eJournals search features had a moderate level of relationship with the fulfillment
of the visitor‘s latest information needs, (2) The use of e-Journals search features
had a low level of relationship with the fulfillment of the visitor’s routine
information needs, (3) the use of e-Journals search features had a low level of
relationship with the fulfillment of the visitor's in-depth information needs, (4)

was a significant relationship between the use of e-journals search features with
the fulfillment of visitor’s information needs on UPT BIT LIPI Bandung.

informasi sekilas pemustaka. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang
signifikan antara penggunaan search features e-journals dengan pemenuhan
kebutuhan informasi pemustaka pada UPT BIT LIPI Bandung.
