ABSTRAK
Penelitian pengembangan animasi interaktif IPA berbasis macromedia
flash 8 dengan tema “Global Warming” ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1)
kelayakan menurut penilaian para ahli dan praktisi, (2) respon siswa, dan (3)
peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa setelah menggunakan animasi interaktif IPA.
Penelitian ini merupakan Research and Development (R&D) yang
mengadaptasi model penelitian Borg and Gall yang terdiri dari 10 tahapan, tetapi
dalam penelitian ini hanya dilakukan sampai tahap ke 5 yaitu research and
information collecting, planning, develop preliminary form of product,
preliminary field testing, dan main product revision. Penelitian ini melibatkan
reviewer, yaitu 2 dosen ahli, 1 guru IPA, dan 24 siswa kelas VIIE SMP Negeri 1
Piyungan sebagai responden. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini
adalah lembar validasi untuk mengetahui kelayakan, angket respon siswa untuk
mengetahui respon siswa, serta angket motivasi untuk mengetahui tingkat
motivasi belajar siswa. Teknik analisis data yang dilakukan adalah analisis

deskriptif data berupa uraian saran dari reviewer serta data hasil penilaian berupa
penilaian kuantitatif rata-rata dari tiap aspek untuk mengetahui kelayakan dan
respon siswa, data peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa berupa rata-rata persentase
motivasi belajar sebelum dan setelah menggunakan media pembelajaran yang
dikembangkan.
Hasil penelitian pengembangan ini adalah animasi interaktif IPA dengan
tema “Global Warming” dinyatakan layak oleh oleh dosen ahli dan praktisi
dengan kategori “sangat baik”. Demikian pula respon siswa menunjukkan hasil
penilaian dengan kategori “sangat baik”. Animasi interaktif IPA yang
dikembangkan dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa.

ABSTRACT

This research is developing interactive animation of science based on
macromedia flash 8 theme of “Global Warming” which aims to determine (1) the
viable based on the judgment of experts and practitioners, (2) student’s response,
and (3) increase students’ motivation after using interactive animation of science.
The method used in this study using Research and Development (R & D)
by Borg and Gall who has 10 steps of development and the researcher only uses 5
steps are, research and information collecting, planning, develop preliminary form
of product, preliminary field testing, and the main product revision. This research
involves some reviewer, 2 expert lecturers, 1 science teacher, and the respondents
were 24 students of VIIE class in SMP Negeri 1 Piyungan. The instrument used in
this research are validation sheet to determine the viable, student questionnaire
responses to determine student’s response, and motivation questionnaire to
determine the level of student motivation. The data analysis phase’s technique
was descriptive analysis data such as suggestion from reviewer and quantitative
assessment from the average of each aspect to determine the feasibility and
student’s response, the increase data of students motivation such as the average of
percentage in the form of learning motivation before and after using media which
developed.
The results of this research is interactive animation of science theme of
“Global Warming” is viable to be used with category “very good” based on the

judgment of experts and practitioners. As well as student’s response results, it
shows all with category “very good”. Interactive animation of science which
developed was increase of student’s motivation to learn.
