ABSTRACT
In the usage of the hotspot network, bandwidth management usually works globally or
not specifically divided according to the users’ needs. As a result, users with higher priority were
difficult to be differed with the lower priority ones. Therefore, the designation of the bandwidth
management is needed by using the user-profile attribute to group the users’ bandwidth according
to the users’ needs. One of the methods applied to ensure that the users get the bandwidth
according to the group they are in is the Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) algorithm. This
research will discuss about the application of the HTB algorithm in dividing the users bandwidth
based on the group they are in towards some protocol used on the network service. The result of
this research is that the group that has a higher priority gets bigger bandwidth compared to the
group with a lower priority.

ABSTRAK
Dalam penggunaan jaringan hotspot, biasanya pengelolaan bandwidth masih bersifat
global atau tidak dipisahkan secara spesifik menurut jenis pengguna. Akibatnya,tidak terdapat
perbedaan pembagian bandwidth antara kelompok pengguna dengan prioritas lebih tinggi dan
pengguna dengan prioritas lebih rendah. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan perancangan pengelolaan
bandwith dengan menggunakan atribut user-profile untuk mengatur bandwidth pengguna didalam
kelompok berdasarkan jenis pengguna. Salah satu algoritma yang diterapkan untuk menjamin
pengguna mendapatkan bandwidth sesuai dengan kelompok prioritas yang berbeda-beda yaitu
algoritma Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB). Penelitian ini akan membahas mengenai penerapan
algoritma HTB dalam membagi bandwidth pengguna di dalam kelompok prioritas berdasarkan
jenis pengguna terhadap beberapa protocol pada layanan jaringan yang digunakan. Hasil dari
penelitian ini adalah pengguna didalam kelompok yang memiliki prioritas lebih tinggi terlebih
dahulu mendapatkan bandwidth dibanding kelompok yang memiliki prioritas lebih rendah.

algoritma Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB). Penelitian ini akan membahas mengenai penerapan
algoritma HTB dalam membagi bandwidth pengguna di dalam kelompok prioritas berdasarkan
jenis pengguna terhadap beberapa protocol pada layanan jaringan yang digunakan. Hasil dari
penelitian ini adalah pengguna didalam kelompok yang memiliki prioritas lebih tinggi terlebih
dahulu mendapatkan bandwidth dibanding kelompok yang memiliki prioritas lebih rendah.
