ACADEMIC STAFF QUALIFICATION

There are 33 full time and qualified academic staffs that support the study
program at Dept of ESL with 28,57 % hold PhD degree (10,71 % as Professor),
17,86 % are PhD candidates, and 71,43% hold Master’s degree. The
academic staffs are competent to conduct teaching and learning activities as
indicate by their education qualification i.e. at least held Master Degree (the
minimum degree requirement according to the standard of Directorate
General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education) in their expertise, i.e.
agricultural economics, resource economics and environmental economics.

AN OVERVIEW OF ESL
The Department of ESL offers the study of economic and social aspects of
agriculture, resources, and environment as well as its impact on society as a
whole. The department was established under The Faculty of Economics and
Management, IPB to answer the global need for sustainable development, as
well as in line with the increasing of government, society, and business
community awareness on the importance of sustainability of resource and
environment.

The major competency requires students to have the capability of knowledge
and skills to apply theoretical concepts and the ability to formulate policies

in agricultural, resource, and environmental economic sectors, as well as
have the responsibility in the policies formulating.
Agricultural, Resource and Environmental Economics is a study program
that concerns with the issues,techniques, and principles of natural
resources, environmental policies, and agricultural development in wider
scopes.

VISION
to be an internationally center of excellent in the development of agricultural,
resource, and environmental economics in order to support society’ welfare
and sustainable development in Indonesia

MISSION
(1) Conducting the higher academic and professional education to produce
graduates with the qualification and competences in the field of sustainable
economic of agriculture, resource and environment; (2) Developing
agricultural, resource, and environmental economics through the
teaching activities, research, and community development; and (3) be
pro-active in addressing and providing alternative solutions to the problems
of agricultural development, resource, and environment in accordance with

human welfare.

COMPETENCES

to be able perform the theoretical concepts in the agricultural,
resources, and environmental economics and be able to formulate proper
policies in agriculture, resources, and environment
SCHOLARSHIP

Several Scholarships offered to the students Are Beasiswa Peningkatan
Prestasi Akademik (PPA), Bantuan Belajar Mahasiswa (BBM),
Beasiswa Djarum Bakti Pendidikan, Beasiswa Robo Bank,Beasiswa
Utusan Daerah (BUD), Beasiswa Tanoto Foundation, Beasiswa Yayasan
Goodwill International and others.

GRADUATE OPPORTUNITIES
Graduate of the ESL study program are able to work in different fields
related to the competencies, i.e.:
Government: the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Ministry of
Agriculture, and Ministry of Fisheries, BAPPENAS, research institution

(LIPI), local government, etc.
Private institution and companies related tot he economics, agriculture,
resource and environment, such as mining company, banking and
financial services, media anchor, national and international NGO, etc
Lecture, researcher, and consultant
Managed own business, such as in tourism work-field

FACILITIES
Facilities in supporting academic activities include lecturer working room,
office or the department’ secretariat, academic service room, lecture hall,
meeting room, seminar and discussion room, reading room, student
association secretariat, toilet and kitchen. Besides, other facilities are
bicycle with special lane, in-campus bus, clinic, computer laboratory,
large lecture class (halls) with capacity reach 250 students, and seminar
rooms with 60 and 120 Students capacity, Libraries managed at the level
of university, faculty and department
