ABSTRAK
Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk menentukan komponen minyak atsiri dari
rimpang laja gowah (Alpinia malaccensis (Burm f.)) melalui konfirmasi kovats
index atau linear retention indice (LRI) dan pola fragmentasi pada GC/MS. Minyak
atsiri rimpang laja gowah yang diperoleh dengan destilasi uap-air masing-masing
memiliki randemen: rimpang basah 0,25 % (v/b), rimpang semikering 0,42 %
(v/b), dan rimpang kering 1,33 % (v/b). Serta memiliki berat jenis: rimpang
basah 1,036 g/mL; rimpang semikering 1,040 g/mL; dan rimpang kering 1,017
g/mL. Komponen minyak atsiri rimpang laja gowah yang paling banyak
ditemukan baik dari rimpang basah, semikering dan kering adalah 50 sampai
60%. metil sinamat Komponen lainnya adalah α-pinena (10%), β-pinena (7%),
1,8-sineol (7%) dan α-terpineol (1%).

ABSTRACT
The determination of the components character of essential oils from Alpinia
malaccensis (Burm f.) rhizome had been carried out by confirmation of linear
retention index (LRI) and fragmentation pattern in GC/MS methods. The
randement of the essential oils from Alpinia malaccensis (Burm f.) which was
obtained by steam distillation was wet rhizome 0,25% (v/b), half-dry rhizome
0,42%(v/b) and dry rhizome 1,33% (v/b). The density value was wet rhizome
1,036 g/mL, half-dry rhizome 1,040 g/mL, and dry rhizome 1,017 g/mL. The
essential oil of Alpinia malaccensis (Burm f.) rhizome contained 50 to 60 percent
of methyl cinnamate, and the other components were α -pinene (10%), β-pinene
(7%), 1,8-cineole (7%) and α -terpineole (1%).
