Abstract
Many research about baby incubators have been done, but just few of them using
integrated monitoring system. Most of baby incubator just control the temperature and
humidity of the air which monitoring system is already embedded on the incubator.
Because of that reason, in this thesis the baby incubator centralized monitoring system
was developed, based on LAN network which use TCP/IP protocol to communicate the
data between the hardware on the baby incubator and desktop application in the
computer.The temperature and humidity of the air will be read by DT-Sense Temperature
and Humidity Sensor which controlled by ATmega8535 micro controller from the desktop
application command, then the result will be sent back by the LAN network. In the micro

controller ATmega8535 software the value of set point that control the lamp and the fan
as the controller of air temperature and humidity is already set, that is 35-36°C for
temperature and 70%RH for air humidity. The result shows that the hardware work as
needed.

Abstrak
Sudah banyak dilakukan penelitian tentang inkubator bayi, tetapi masih sedikit yang
menggunakan sistem monitoring secara terpusat. Kebanyakan inkubator bayi hanya
mengendalikan suhu dan kelembaban yang sistem monitoringnya terdapat pada
inkubator. Oleh karena itu dalam tugas akhir ini dikembangkan sistem monitoring
inkubator bayi terpusat menggunakan jaringan LAN (Local Area Network) dengan
protokol TCP/IP sebagai komunikasi data antara perangkat keras inkubator bayi dengan
aplikasi dekstop yang berada didalam komputer. Suhu dan kelembaban dibaca oleh DTSense Temperature and Humidity Sensor yang dikontrol mikrokontroler ATmega8535
atas perintah aplikasi dekstop, kemudian hasil pembacaan suhu dan kelembaban dikirim
kembali melalui jaringan LAN. Dalam perangkat lunak mikrokontroler ATmega8535
ditentukan nilai set point yang mengontrol lampu dan kipas sebagai pengatur suhu dan
kelembaban, yaitu set point untuk suhu 35-36°C dan kelembaban 70%RH. hasil

menunjukkan bahwa hardware bekerja sesuai kebutuhan.
