100RC AIMS TO
SOLVE TWO
PROBLEMS:
1. Cities are complex,
siloed ecosystems

2. Existing solutions
do not scale or
reach cities
efficiently
(And lack of a common
global practice undermines
both)

What Scales: CROs Acting Locally and Globally

Cities are working together to
share knowledge and exchange
best practices globally, not
just regionally.

CROs become international
advisors working together to
tackle shared urban resilience
challenges and signal aggregate
needs.

For example, the issue of
conflict migration is deeply
impacting cities. Europe,
Africa, and Latin America are
working together to scope
resilient solutions and policy

The Market: Understanding & Innovating to Meet City
Needs
NEW ORLEANS –
SWISS RE/VEOLIA
• Cities need financial plans in place
to protect critical assets against
shocks before they occur.
• Platform Partners Swiss Re and
Veolia are piloting their work
together in New Orleans
• This innovative partnership will
allow cities to know what is at
risk, how it needs to improve, who
will fix it, and where the funds
will come from, all which allows
them to rebound more quickly.

10% Resilience Pledge: the Politics of Innovation
and Scale
• The 10% Resilience Pledge was
developed by 100 Resilient Cities
and a small coalition of city
leaders, and totals $5 billion in
global commitments from 23 cities
and counting.

• The 10% pledge reflects a commitment
to addressing resilience issues
proactively and holistically.
Importantly, signing the pledge will
not involve spending additional
money. Rather, a key principle of
resilience is a commitment to making
sure each project the city engages
in achieves multiple goals, allowing
the city to get the most return out
of every dollar.

• The Pledge can be factored as
