telephone interviews. 3. Third, the researcher analyzed the findings using the theories from the
theoretical framework. The analysis was focused on the advantages and disadvantages of using blog for digital portfolio assignments, kinds of
difficulties faced by students and the way students to solve the difficulties in using blog for digital portfolio assignment. Then, the researcher compared the
result of research with the theories presented in theoretical framework.

In this chapter, the researcher presents the research findings and discussion. It reports the findings and result of the data collection. Detailed description of the result
obtained from this study is presented.
A. Research Findings
Based on the research problems in the first chapter, the researcher presents the result of the research based on the statement. There are advantages and
disadvantages of using blog for digital portfolios at State Islamic University Sunan Ampel Surabaya.
1. The advantages and disadvantages of using blog for digital portfolio
assignments
Based on the result of data collection from question number one, there were many students’ opinions about using blog for digital portfolio
assignments in CALL 2. After joining CALL 2 by using blog for their digital portfolios assignment, students were interested in completing some
assignments. The advantages and disadvantages presented as follow:

As explained in theoretical framework, Steele stated that there are six specific advantages of using blog for digital portfolios assignment.
