ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini berjudul Pengujian Terhadap Pecking Order Theory Pada
Perusahaan Pertanian dan Pertambangan Yang Listed di Bursa Efek Indonesia
yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis apakah pola pemenuhan kebutuhan investasi
mengikuti pola Pecking Order Hypothesis pada perusahaan Pertanian dan
Pertambangan yang listed di Bursa Efek Indonesia.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kausalitas yaitu untuk menguji pengaruh
variabel bebas terhadap variabel terikat dengan menggunakan data sekunder.
Penelitian ini tergolong penelitian berbasis pengujian hipotesis. Pengujian
terhadap perilaku pendanaan perusahaan dalam memenuhi kebutuhan investasinya
mengikuti pola Pecking Order Hypothesis. Perusahaan yang diteliti adalah
perusahaan pertanian dan pertambangan yang listed di Bursa Efek Indonesia.
Periode penelitian mulai tahun 2008-2010. Adapun metode analisis data yang
digunakan yaitu menentukan variabel terikat, menentukan variabel bebas, analisis
korelasi, analisis regresi linier, dan uji hipotesis dengan bantuan program
komputer SPSS (Statistical program for social science).
Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan pada 17 perusahaan selama periode 20082010 diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa defisit perusahaan berpengaruh positif dan
signifikan terhadap perubahan utang jangka panjang. Berarti utang jangka panjang
digunakan untuk pemenuhan kebutuhan dana. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan
bahwa pola pemenuhan kebutuhan investasi perusahaan Pertanian dan
Pertambangan yang listed di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2008-2010 terbukti
mengikuti pola Pecking Order Hypothesis.

ABSTRACT
This study entitled of Testing Against the pecking order theory in
Agriculture and Mining Companies Listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange aims
to analyze whether the pattern of investment needs to follow the pattern of
Pecking Order Hypothesis in Agriculture and Mining companies are listed on the
Indonesia Stock Exchange.
This research is a study of causality is to test the effect of independent
variables on the dependent variable by using secondary data. This study
considered the hypothesis testing-based research. Tests on the behavior of
corporate funding in meeting the investment needs of the pecking order following
the pattern of hypothesis. Companies studied are agriculture and mining company
listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Study period beginning in 2008-2010. As
for the methods of data analysis used to determine the dependent variable,
determining the independent variable, correlation analysis, linear regression
analysis, and test hypotheses with the help of a computer program SPSS
(Statistical program for social science).
Results of research conducted in 17 companies during the 2008-2010
period the company obtained the conclusion that the deficit has positive and
significant impact on changes in long-term debt. Means long-term debt used to
meet funding requirements. Therefore, it can be concluded that the pattern of
meeting the needs of agriculture and mining investment company which listed on
the Indonesia Stock Exchange 2008-2010 period proved to follow the pattern
pecking order hypothesis.

Pengujian Terhadap Pecking Order Theory Pada Perusahaan Pertanian dan
Pertambangan Yang Listed di Bursa Efek Indonesia ; Zera Selvira Hendrianti;
Jurusan Manajemen Keuangan, Fakultas Ekonomi, Universitas Jember.
Teori Pecking Order menyatakan bahwa terdapat urutan prioritas berkaitan
dengan aktivitas pendanaan perusahaan yaitu perusahaan lebih mengutamakan
sumber dana internal terlebih dahulu (laba ditahan) sebelum menggunakan sumber
eksternal yaitu utang dan ekuitas. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena alasan dasar
yaitu keragaman laporan keuangan dan struktur pendanaan. Apabila dilihat dari
karakteristik masing-masing perusahaan ini berbeda. Sektor pertanian dalam
kegiatan usaha meliputi kegiatan masa tanam dan masa panen yang membutuhkan
jangka waktu panjang, sedangkan sektor pertambangan kegiatan usaha meliputi
kegiatan penyelidikan umum, eksplorasi, pengolahan, pemurnian, pengangkutan
dan perdagangan juga membutuhkan jangka waktu panjang. Selain itu, perusahaan
pertanian dan pertambangan memerlukan investasi untuk seluruh aktivitas operasi
dan cenderung memiliki utang jangka panjang yang merupakan sumber dana
eksternal. Hal ini yang membuat sedikit berbeda dengan sektor lainnya.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kausalitas. Populasi yang digunakan
dalam penelitian ini adalah pada perusahaan pertanian dan pertambangan yang
listed di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2008-2010. Pengambilan sampel dalam
penelitian ini dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling dengan
memperhatikan kriteria pemilihan sampel. Metode analisis dalam penelitian ini
yaitu menentukan variabel terikat, menentukan variabel bebas, analisis korelasi,
analisis regresi linier, dan uji hipotesis.
Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan pada 17 perusahaan selama periode 20082010 diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa defisit perusahaan berpengaruh positif dan
signifikan terhadap perubahan utang jangka panjang. Berarti utang jangka panjang
digunakan untuk pemenuhan kebutuhan dana. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan
