The sentence pattern used by the students in the planned speaking was S V sub. S V . . . Subject + Verb + subordinator + Subject + Verb . . .. Meanwhile, the sentence pattern that tended to be used by the students in the unplanned speaking was S V coord. S V . . . Subject + Verb + coordinator + Subject + Verb . . .. Furthermore, it could also be analyzed that the students tended to use complex sentences both in the planned and unplanned speeches.
