Thomas believes that Minho and he can survive like Ben and Gally. He also believes that there must be something that they can do, but Minho says that there is no hope for them to survive. However, all of his questions have a purpose because Thomas is able to gather information on what strategies have been tried before, what lessons were learnt from the past, and what he should avoid doing in the future. Thomas knows that Minho is the Keeper of the Runner who knows more about the Maze. While Thomas‘ attitude frustrates the Gladers who are been in the Glades for quite some time, it allows Thomas to make wiser decisions. At last, it also allows him to make decisions as he leads the group towards their escape from the Glade. In order to move forward, Thomas should constantly be curious. He asks all sorts of questions, even if it may seem dumb. Thomas will never know what he will find out until he asks. He already knows that the Maze cannot be solved from Alby and Teresa. However, it does not stop him to find another idea to get out from the place. He tries to gather more information until he finds the code from the Maze movement and he believes that the code can lead them to exit from the Maze. Although the idea of jumping into the Griever is never done before, they need to try it whether the idea is successful or not.
