COMPUTERIZED AIR-CODITIONING MAINTENANCE
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR
UNIVERSITI TEKNOLOGI MALAYSIA.
ABSTRACT
Current system, which has been used by Maintenance Department in Pejabat
Harta Bina Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), is a manual filing system. The
system focus only on the air conditioning maintenance work and filling the business
forms with contractors and customers. Lack of good computerized maintenance
management system, caused maintenance activities with optimum cost and time
harder to be achieved. Data analysis of the machines maintenance past records are
very useful to determine whether time and replacement cost are always at the
optimum level. A good data analysis can be used to make the best maintenance
strategy in order to increase productivity and customers satisfaction. Thus, the
computerized air conditioning maintenance management information system has
been developed to replace current manual system. Few data analysis utilities have
been provided to enhance the philosophy of Total Productive Maintenance. The
computerized system is developed by using Microsoft Access as a database engine,
Microsoft Excel as a data analysis engine with the programs and coding written with
Microsoft Visual Basic programming language.
