ABSTRAK
Kulit padi (sekam) merupakan salah satu bahan atau material sisa dari proses pengolahan padi
yang selama ini dianggap sebagai limbah. Karena sifat dan karakteristiknya yang unik, di lain
pihak, seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi, kebutuhan akan plastik terus meningkat, plastik
merupakan bahan yang tidak dapat terdekomposisi oleh mikroorganisme pengurai ( non
biodegradable ), sehingga penumpukannya dialam dikhawatirkan akan menimbulkan masalah
lingkungan.
Perkembangan teknologi, khususnya dibidang komposit, telah menghasilkan produk komposit
yang bermacam- macam. Di Indonesia penelitian tentang produk ini sangat terbatas, padahal
bahan baku dan potensinya sangat besar.
Tujuan dari penggunaan sekam padi ini disamping harganya murah juga mudah didapat, ukuran
dari serbuk sekam padi yaitu 80 µm.
Sedangkan biji plastik yang digunakan yaitu jenis PP ( polypropylene ). Sedangkan ukuran
Prosentase serbuk sekam padi dan polypropylene adalah 5% : 95%, 10% : 90%, 15% : 85%, 20%
: 80%.
Metode pengujian ini menggunakan uji tarik.
Berdasarkan hasil percobaan dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh prosentase serbuk sekam
padi dengan terhadap kekuatan tarik komposit.
ABSTRACT
Paddy husk ( sekam) represent one of [the] material or materials of[is rest of from process

polypropylene [is] 5 : 95%, 10 : 90%, 15 : 85%, 20 : 80%.
this Examination method use interesting test.
Pursuant to result of attempt can be concluded that there is influence of is percentage of serbuk
lock up Husk with to composite interesting strength.
