INTRODUCTION Translation can be regarded as a tool to communicate something. According to Newmark (1988:7) as a communication process, the translation can be used to convey information in a variety ways and its purposes. In translation process, on interpreting is not onlydoing a process but also translators produce same meaning or same message from the source language (S1) to the target language (IT). In this case the result of the translation is determined by the process of translating a text by the translator. Practical purpose of the message transfer prOCess is to assist the reader understanding of the target language text message which intended by author of the source language text (Muhizar, 2011:55). Target language is a product of the translation process, in other words, translation result is equivalent meaning with the accuracy of the source language message, readability and acceptability.
On Finding the equivalent translation results can bring a translator· to intranstability translation and untranstability translation concept. Intransability concept will not happen if the translator has knowledge of the elements forming of the source language text and know the culture of the target language text. Untranstability do because a translator find the equivalence that impossible finding in the in translating the source language text to the target language text. According to Baker (1992:6) that It is use here with the proviso that although equivalent can usually be obtained to some extent, it is influenced by a variety of linguistic and cultural factors and therefore always relative . Baker argues that aU levels in accordance with the requirement that even though all equivalence can be practiced, but it is still influenced by a variety of linguistic and cultural factors with the relatively characteristic, fo example ST: Have you taken your medicine? IT: Did you take medication? In the source language

there is no word for saying drink, but it finds in the target language. The above problems associated with the culture of the source language translator. It's not always if saying minum by using the word drink, but the word take can replace drink in some way. However, by appearing the word take (n) and medicine will result equivalent meaning from the source language into the target language. In the example above, the translator try to find suitable word in translating taken medicine into minum obat. Translator do adaptation on taken medicine. According to the translator, minum obat is a suitable translating for taken medicine from the source language into the target language.
