Country risk provisions are held in addition to the provisions required to be held as per the asset classification status. In terms of the RBI circular, the provision is made for only those countries where the
net funded exposure is not less than 1 percent of total assets. For exposures with contractual maturity of less than 180 days, 25 of the normal provision requirement are held.
During the year, the Bank’s credit exposures ceiling to individual borrowers has been exceeded in two cases, namely HDFC Ltd. and Larsen Toubro. Prior approval of the India Management Committee has
been obtained for exceeding the exposure ceiling in the above accounts. The amount of provision for Income Tax made during the year is:
