C. Penutup

Melindungi keanekaragaman hayati me- lalui ABS dalam kerangka Protokol Nagoya dapat memberi keuntungan bagi Indonesia. Keuntungan tersebut mesti diraih dengan segera menyelesaikan Undang-Undang Sumber Daya Genetik dan mensosialisasikan kepada masyarakat, serta harus mendapat dukungan dari semua stakeholders. Penerapan ABS di Indonesia dimungkinkan mendapat kelemahan-kelemahan seperti keberadaan keanekargaman hayati yang tersebar luas dan dalam menentukan pemilik yang menerima keuntungan. Akan tetapi pengalaman India, dapat menjadi acuan dengan memodiikasi sesuai dengan latar belakang budaya masyarakat Indonesia. Dengan demikian, ratiikasi Protokol Nagoya dan penerapan ABS di Indonesia dapat menjadi pilihan yang cerdas bagi Indonesia dalam melindungi keanekaragaman hayati dan mendapat pembagian manfaat yang adil dan merata.
