4.1.4 Posttest Finding
The posttest was conducted on July 24
th
, 2010 for class XI Science 1 as the experimental group and also for class XI Science 2 as the control group. The
purpose of this test was to know the students’ achievement in reading narrative text after I gave the treatment.
From those scores, the average scores of the experimental group and the control group were analyzed. The average score of the experimental group was 77
and the control group was 71. It means that the achievement of the experimental group was higher than the control group. It was proven by the t-test formula. The
result showed that there is a significant difference in achievement between the experimental and control groups on the posttest.

Chart 4.1.4 The Average Score between the First and Second
Experimental Group
From the chart above, the different average score between the experimental and the control group could be seen. On the experimental group, the
average score of the pretest was 67 and the posttest 77. From those scores, the different average score between the pretest and the posttest on the experimental
group was 10. While, on the control group, the average score of the pretest was 66 and the posttest was 71. The different average score between those tests was 5. It
means that the different average score of the experimental group is higher than that of the control group. It can be concluded that there was good improvement of
the experimental group’s achievement after they received the treatment using Digital Story. It was also proven by the t-test formula. The result showed that
there is an improvement of the students of the experimental group’s reading skill.
