4.1 Tourism Industry and Indigenous People in Bali
Profit generated from tourims in Bali has provided substaintial revenue for Indonesia. Governor of Bali, Made Mangku Pastikastatedthe amount ofthe financial contributionfrom
tourism in Bali was estimated at Rp47trillion for 2015.

Unfortunately, there is no specific regulation that regulates the profit that shall be shared to the indigenous people within
the current Indonesian legal framework. However the toursim industry in indonesia does refer to the objectives of sustainable tourism, which are mostly outlined in the Act of the Republic
Indonesia Number10of 2009concerning Tourism.

Article1 paragraph 4of the Tourism Act 2009 specifically details the importance of postive interaction between tourists, the community and the role of state and local Government. Article 2
of Act details a list of principles which the tourism industry in Bali should follow this is inclusive of elements such as stablity, equality and economic benefit.. In order to achievethe
objectives of thetourism regualtion, the Tourism Act also covers the manner in which tourism is developed, which clearly states that such development must take into account the uniqueness of
culture.

Thus, the arrangement of the strategic areas of tourism are obligated to pay attention to cultural, social and religious aspects of the local communities.
