also has role to the success of students’ learning. Learning facility can enable the learning process to be more effective. The lack of learning facility can be a barrier
of the learning process. SMP Al- Inayah is one of the Private Schools that also applies English as a
compulsory subject. It is located at Kutamukti, Karawang. The writer had already observed the students when they learnt English subject. Not many of them who
care and participate in learning. Some of them do not understand their study. The writer concludes that some of them have problem in learning English. Therefore
the writer is curious to know the most dominant factor that is causing English learning problem to the SMP Al- Inayah second grade Students.
Based on the background above, the writer intends to discuss and analyze the causal factors of students’ problem in learning English at the Second Grade
Students of SMP AL- Inayah.
B. Limitation and Formulation of the Study
In doing the research, the writer limits the problem only at the causal factors of students’ English learning problem focused on family, teacher and
learning facility factor; because she thinks that family, teacher and learning facility have the important role in students’ learning process and the writer also
interested in these 3 factors. The writer carried out the research to the second grade students of SMP Al- Inayah, Karawang.
Based on the limitation above, the writer also formulates the problem of the study as follow: “which is the most dominant factor for students’ problem in
learning English?”
C. Significance of the Study
The result of this research is expected to be an input to the English Teacher in solving his students’ learning problem especially in English subject.
By knowing the main factor, it hopefully will enable the teacher in teaching and using the right strategy to help students learn English. And the writer hopes this
analysis will be useful for someone to enrich and improve hisher knowledge and skill.
D. Organization of the Skripsi
This skripsi consists of 5 chapters: Chapter I is Introduction which gives the information about the background of the study, the limitation and the
formulation of the study, the significance of the study and the organization of the skripsi.
Chapter II is Theoretical Framework that informs about the theory to support the research, they are English language, the objective of Teaching and
Learning English and Some Factors Affecting Students’ English Learning Problem family, teacher and learning facility.
Chapter III is Research methodology consists of purpose of the study, place and time, research method, population and sample, technique of collecting
data, and technique of data analysis. Chapter IV is Research Findings consists of data description, data analysis
and data interpretation. Chapter V is conclusion and suggestion, where the writer will make a
conclusion of her research and give some suggestion relating to research.
