b. Comparison between Cycle 1 and Cycle 2
The researcher compared the students’ writing skill and the teaching and learning process in cycle 1 with those in cycle 2. The result

Based on the comparison of the scores between Cycle 1 and Cycle 2, it could be concluded that the students’ writing skill improved.
The highest score increased from 87.50 to 90. The lowest score increased from 35 to 60. The average score increased from 66.04 to 74.27.
The improvement also happened in the classroom situation. Most students took part in the lesson more actively. They paid full
attention to the teacher’s explanation more seriously. They did not make noise by not talking with other during the lesson so that the teaching and
learning process could run well. The students’ involvement to do the assignment increased. The students did the homework more diligently.
They sent their homework earlier through e-mail. When the teacher asked them questions, they tended to respond more actively. The improvement
of scores also happened in the aspects of writing that could be seen in Table 4.21.

The comparison of scores between Cycle 1 and Cycle 2 showed that there was improvement in all writing aspects. The punctuation
increased from 62.50 to 76.75. The vocabulary increased from 64.75 to 72. The grammar increased from 49 to 62. The supporting detail
increased from 76.75 to 79.25, and the organizing ideas increased from 77.25 to 81.75. The average scores of writing aspects showed that the
students’ ability improved in those aspects. It was noted that the grammar aspect did not increase significantly. Compared with other aspects, its
increase was lower.
