Lalat buah merupakan salah satu hama utama pada pertanaman mangga.
Buah yang terinvestasi oleh larva lalat buah menghambat kegiatan ekspor. Salah
satu alternatif pengendalian yang ramah lingkungan adalah pemanfaatan
nematoda Steinernema spp. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan kepadatan
nematoda Steinernema spp. yang memberikan penekanan paling tinggi terhadap
mortalitas pupa lalat buah dan pengaruhnya terhadap kemunculan imago di
laboratorium. Percobaan dilaksanakan dari bulan September 2012 sampai
November 2012 di Laboratorium Nematologi, Jurusan Hama dan Penyakit
Tumbuhan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Padjadjaran. Penelitian dilakukan
dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen, dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap
(RAL) yang terdiri dari empat perlakuan dan enam ulangan dengan kepadatan
nematoda Steinernema spp. Isolat CG (Cirebon-Gedong Gincu) 0 JI/cm2 tanah
(kontrol), 100 JI/cm2 tanah, 200 JI/cm2 tanah, dan 400 JI/cm2 tanah.
Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa kepadatan nematoda Steinernema spp.
isolat CG 400 JI/cm2 mengakibatkan mortalitas pupa lalat buah Bactrocera
papayae sebesar 16,67% dan kemunculan imago Bactrocera papayae sebesar
83,33%.

Papaya fruit fly is a pest that can cause a big losses on mango orchard. The
larvae that invested in mango could ruin export activity. One of the alternative to
control the fruit fly is by Steinernema spp. nematode. This experiment aimed to
obtain the density of nematodes Steinernema spp. that give the highest mortality
of the fruit fly pupae and reduce the emergence of the imago. The experiment was
carried out from September 2012 to November 2012 in Nematology Laboratory,
Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas
Padjadjaran. The research was conducted using an experiment methode by
Completely Randomized Design consisting of four treatments and six replicates at
a density of nematodes Steinernema spp. CG (Cirebon-Gedong Gincu) Isolates 0
IJ/cm2 of soil (control), 100 IJ/cm2 of soil, 200 IJ/cm2 of soil, and 400 IJ/cm2 of
soil, respectively.
The results showed that density of 400 IJ/cm2 was able to cause the
mortality of Bactrocera papayae fruit fly pupae up to 16.67% and 83.33% for the
emergence of imago.
