PENGGUNAAN METODE PEMODELAN
TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIKA
SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstrak

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya kemampuan pemecahan
masalah matematika. Menyikapi masalah tersebut, peneliti menerapkan
penggunaan metode pemodelan dalam kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan metode
pemodelan terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa sekolah
dasar. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas IV A SDN 1 Saguling (sebagai kelas
eksperimen), dan kelas IV B SDN 1 Saguling (sebagai kelas kontrol) Kecamatan
Baregbeg Kabupaten Ciamis tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Metode yang digunakan
dalam penelitian ini adalah metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian
nonequivalent control group design dengan jenis post test only control design .
Subyek penelitian ini adalah 60 siswa kelas IV, yang terdiri dari 30 siswa untuk
kelas eksperimen dan 30 siswa untuk kelas kontrol. Pengumpulan data melalui
nilai postes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa pada pokok

bahasan pengurangan pecahan dan melalui lembar observasi untuk mengetahui
proses pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode pemodelan. Postes yang
diberikan terdiri dari empat soal bentuk uraian. Rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan
masalah matematika siswa yang diajarkan dengan penggunaan metode pemodelan
lebih tinggi dari rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa
dengan tidak mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan metode pemodelan. Hasil
penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa penggunaan metode pemodelan berpengaruh
terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika, dapat dilihat dari nilai
signifikansi yang diperoleh yaitu 0,000.

Abstract
This research is motivated by the lack of mathematical problem solving

ability. Addressing these problems, researchers employ the use of modeling
methods in the problem solving ability of students. The purpose of this study was
to determine the effect of the use of modeling methods to mathematical problem
solving abilities of elementary school students. This research was conducted in
class IV A SDN 1 Saguling (as a class experiment), and class IV B 1 SDN
Saguling (as a control class) Baregbeg District of Ciamis District school year
2013/2014. The method used in this study is the method of quasi-experimental
research design nonequivalent control group design with the type of post-test only
control design. The subjects of this study were 60 students of class IV, which
consists of 30 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control
classes. Data collection through post-test score students' mathematical problem
solving ability in the subject and the fractional reduction through observation
sheet to determine the learning process using modeling methods. Postes given
consists of four questions in narrative form. Average math problem solving
abilities of students taught with the use of modeling methods is higher than the
average of students' mathematical problem solving capabilities with no learning
with modeling methods. The results of the study revealed that the use of modeling
methods affect the ability of solving mathematical problems, can be seen from the
significant value obtained is 0.000.
