Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkapkan Konsep diri
pemodifikasi motor pada anggota komunitas motor yang dibagi menjadi tiga
pertanyaan penelitian, yaitu bagaimana makna diri serta peran diri pemodifikasi
motor pada komunitas SAC Bandung, serta peran komunitas dalam komunikasi
antarpribadi pada pembentukan konsep diri pemodifikasi motor. Penelitian ini
menggunakan metode penelitian Fenomenologi yang menggambarkan
pengalaman mengenai diri pemodifikasi sebagai subjek dalam penelitian. Data
penelitian diperoleh melalui observasi lapangan, wawancara lima orang yang
dijadikan informants penelitian, studi pustaka, serta dokumentasi yang
berhubungan dengan penelitian.
Hasil dari penelitian ini menggambarkan bahwa terdapat tiga konsep
dalam pembentukan konsep diri pemodifikasi. Pertama adalah makna diri, adalah
bentuk kesadaran diri pemodifikasi dalam memaknai setiap simbol yang hadir
kepada dirinya yang pada akhirnya membentuk sebuah tindakan. kedua adalah
peran diri, adalah bentuk penghargaan diri mengenai keberadaan dirinya sebagai

pemodifikasi dalam sistem sosial. Dan yang terakhir adalah interaksi, interpretasi
makna diri serta peran diri terbentuk dalam sebuah interaksi.
Kesimpulan dari peneltian ini mengungkapkan bahwa tindakan seseorang
dipengaruhi oleh konsep diri. Konsep diri pemodifikasi dibagi menjadi dua
kategori yang terbentuk dari motif setiap pemodifikasi, yaitu pemodifikasi
profesional yang mempunyai konsep bahwa modifikasi adalah sebuah profesi, dan
pemodifikasi amatir mempunyai konsep bahwa modifikasi adalah sebuah hobi.

The purpose of this research is to utter the self-concept of motorcycle
modifiers on motorcycle community wich is devides into three research questions,
that is; how self-sense, self-role of the motorcycled modifiers on Satria
Accotiation Club (SAC) community in Bandung, and the role of community on
interpesonal communication in forming the self-concept of motorcycled modifiers.
This research using Phenomenology methods which describes the experience
about self of modifier as subject of the research. Data are got from field
observation, interviewing five people who become research key infomants,
literature research, and documentations which related with the research.
The result from this research describes that trehe are three concept of the
establishing self-concept of modifiers. The first one is sense of self, which is the
forming of the self awareness of the modifiers in interpreting the symbol which
present on them selves until establish an act. The second in the role of self, which
is the forming of self-esteem about their present as modifiers in social system. The
last one is interaction, which is interpretation of the sense self and the role of self
until establish on interation.
The conclusion of this research show that an action the self-concept is
divided into two categories, wich established from motif of the modifiers thet is
profesional modifiers which have concept that modification is a professsion and
amateur modifiers have concept that modification is a hobby.
