Hi, Tina. How are you? I hope that you are fine just like me here in Pekalongan.
I‘d like to share my last holiday experience.
I did with my boyfriend the Three Day Orca Safari from 7-9 September 2012. It was my best holiday

experience ever! We were with 4 people and our guide Stephanie. Steph knows incredibly much about the
wildlife so that is very nice! The first day we saw already many dolphins and a group of orcas. The other
days we saw the orcas from our beach. It was awesome when they went by at sunset. We also saw sea
lions and porpoises. It is really nice to sleep in the tent on the beach. It gives the really outdoor feeling.
Back to basic. We were also very lucky with the weather! This trip was wonderful!
What about you? What did you on your last holiday? I‘m looking forward to your reply.

White House, official residence of the president of the U.S., built in its original form between 1792 and
1800, and situated at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in Washington, D.C. Known variously through its history as the
President's Palace, the President's House, and the Executive Mansion, the building has always been most
popularly known as the White House. Although the White House has been subject to numerous renovations and
additions, it has retained its classically simple character.
The site and the surrounding landscaped lawns and gardens of the White House occupy 7.31 hectares
(18.07 acres) and include numerous trees of historical interest. Constructed of Virginia sandstone, the main
building is a stately, white edifice, 52 by 26 m (170 by 85 ft), built in the classical style associated with the
16th-century Italian architect Andrea Palladio. An Ionic portico (1829) on the north side faces Lafayette
Square. On the south side is a semicircular portico (1824) with a private entrance on the ground floor.
The private apartments of the president occupy the second floor of the main building, and the third floor
consists chiefly of guest rooms and quarters for the staff. On the ground floor are cloakrooms, a china room, the
kitchen, and the library.
On the first floor are the formal rooms of state, which are open to the public. Among these stately rooms
are the East Room, the largest room in the White House, used for state receptions and balls, and where the
bodies of William McKinley and John F. Kennedy once lay in state; the oval Blue Room, where the president
receives guests at state dinners; the Red Room, in which the First Lady, or president's wife, receives guests; the

Text for questions no. 23 to 26
A funeral is a ceremony for celebrating, respecting, sanctifying, or remembering the life of a person
who has died. The word funeral comes from the Latin funus, which had a variety of meanings, including the
corpse and the funerary rites themselves. Funerary art is art produced in connection with burials, including
many kinds of tombs, and objects specially made for burial with a corpse.
The actual funeral—conveying the deceased to the place of burial, cremation, or exposure—also
provides an occasion for ritual. Frequently, transporting the body develops into a procession by detailed
prescriptions. In Hinduism, the procession to the place of cremation is led by a man carrying a firebrand. The
mourners at one point walk around the bier; in former times among some groups, a widow was expected to
throw herself onto the burning pyre of her husband. Finally, the cremated remains are deposited in a sacred
river. In ancient Greece, Egypt, and China, servants were sometimes buried with their masters. This form of
human sacrifice was based on the belief that in the afterworld the deceased continued to need their services.
In modern Western societies, funeral rituals include wakes, processions, the tolling of bells, the
celebration of a religious rite, and the delivery of a eulogy. Military funerals often require special salutes fired
by weapons. Jewish tradition prescribes a seven-day period of seclusion (shivah) following the funeral of a
close relative.
The desire to preserve the memory of the departed has resulted in many kinds of memorial acts. These
include preserving a part of the body as a relic, building monuments, reciting elegies, and inscribing an epitaph
on a tombstone.

C. a widow was expected to throw herself onto the burning pyre of her husband
D. the procession to the place of cremation is led by a man carrying a firebrand

D. funeral in Hinduism is done exactly the same as funeral in ancient Greece

1. Make sure the blender is plugged in, clean, and in working
condition. If it looks like it's in okay condition, it's probably safe to
use.
2. Put your ingredients inside. If you're blending ice, you'll need a little
bit of liquid to get it going. The ice floats in water, letting the blades
do their thing. No water and the ice will just wedge itself against the
sides, slowly melting.
3. Close the lid and hold the cover tightly. If it doesn't start, make sure
the bottom of the blender is placed securely in the base. If the base and
the blender aren't meeting just so, it can't make the connection to start
whizzing and whirring.
4. Blend! Choose an appropriate speed setting depending on what you
are blending.
5. Open it up and pour it out. If you're done that is. You may need to
scrape out the bottom or undo the blades to get it all out of there,
especially if it's thick. That's it!
6. Clean the blender. Take off the blades from the jar and wash the two
parts separately so that you can completely clean them. Just run them
under warm water with a little soap; alternatively, you can put them in
your dishwasher. It's safe. Never, ever, ever put the base in water! If
you get it gunky, take a wet cloth or sponge to it.

A. How to fix a broken blender.

A. to make sure it is safe to use

A. it is the place of the electrical components
C. we don‘t need water to use the blender

I looked after a pet once. It was a white male cat named Timmy. He was always waiting for me on the
front door of my house when I came back from school.
One night, I just didn‘t know why Timmy meowed all night long before it finally fell asleep soundly
next to me on my bed. In the morning when I woke up, he was still sleeping. As usual, before I did my daily
routine, I prepared a special pet food for his breakfast.
However, when I was back from school that day the food remained on its place and Timmy was still
there, sleeping. He had not eaten his food yet. Being so worried about him and felt so tired I fell asleep on the
sofa in the living room.
It was 4 p.m. when Tony, Mr. Karta‘s son, my neighbor next door, woke me up from my nap. He told
me that he found Timmy lying on the road in front of my house dead. It seemed that a vehicle had just hit him.
O my God! My dear Timmy!

―Well...it's all up to you. I eat you or I eat the cake. The choice is yours."

far as I can so that the king won't be able to get me."
"All right...Now, go!" He was really hungry. He could not wait any longer to eat king's cake.
Mouse Deer took a safe distance away from Tiger. But he still could watch him, as Tiger eagerly took
the peace of the 'cake'. ―Phooey, it's not a cake! It's...it's buffalo's dung! I'll get you, Mouse Deer! You! Watch
