Infeksi kulit dapat disebabkan oleh bakteri, virus, dan jamur. Golongan bakteri yang
umumnya menyebabkan infeksi adalah Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, dan
Pseudomonas. Antiseptik ekstrak etanol daun bandotan diketahui dapat mempercepat
proses penyembuhan luka terbuka pada tikus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
melakukan pengujian ekstrak daun bandotan terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus,
Streptococcus mutans, dan kombinasinya. Konsentrasi bakteri diukur secara

turbidimetri dengan menggunakan spektrofotometer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan
ekstrak etanol daun bandotan memiliki efektivitas yang sama dengan kontrol terhadap
penyembuhan luka yang diinduksi bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan kombinasi
Staphylococcus aureus dan Streptococcus mutans.

Skin infection can be caused by bacteria, virus and fungi. The bacteria causing
infection is commonly Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and Pseudomonas. Antiseptic
extract ethanol leaves bandotan known can speed the process of healing wounds open
in rats. This study aims to do our tests extract leaves bandotan against bacteria,
Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus mutans, and their combinations. Bacterial
concentration measured in turbidimetri by using spectrophotometer. The result
showed extract ethanol leaves bandotan has same effectiveness to control of healing
wound induced Staphylococcus aureus and combinations of Staphylococcus aureus
and Streptococcus mutans.
