Sosok Guru Honorer di Harian Umum Kompas Edisi 5-7 Maret 2012.
Pembimbing Utama Drs. H. Darmawan Zainun, M.S. dan Pembimbing
Pendamping Dr. Hj. Nuryah Asri Sjafirah, S.Sos., M.Si., Jurusan Jurnalistik,
Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi, Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dimensi teks, dimensi praktik
wacana, dan dimensi praktik sosio-kultural representasi sosok guru honorer dalam
Harian Umum Kompas edisi 5-7 Maret 2012.
Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis wacana kritis. Analisis wacana
kritis adalah instrument metodologis yang dipakai untuk melihat hubungan antara
teks dengan konteks sosial dengan pendekatan kritis. Model analisis wacana kritis
yang dipakai adalah model Norman Fairclough. Data untuk penelitian ini
diperoleh dari teks berita Harian Umum Kompas, studi pustaka, penelusuran
dokumen dan wawancara mendalam.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan sosok guru honorer direpresentasikan
melalui pilihan kata, tata bahasa dan analisis hubungan serta identitas yang
menyusun tulisan. Kompas memaknai sosok guru honorer sebagai sosok yang
memiliki loyalitas tinggi dan penuh pengabdian di dalam dunia pendidikan.
Simpulan pada
penelitian
ini
adalah
Kompas
telah
melakukan
keberpihakan dalam pemberitaannya mengenai sosok guru honorer. Kompas
memberi perhatian lebih dan menaruh simpati terhadap sosok guru honorer.
Saran pada penelitian ini adalah Kompas hendaknya menyajikan beritanya
secara berimbang agar tidak terjadi keberpihakan atau bisa bersifat netral. Kompas
hendaknya juga menyajikan permasalahan pendidikan lainnya agar pembaca bisa
mendapatkan informasi yang komprehensif tentang wajah pendidikan di
Indonesia.

The purpose of this research was to determine the dimension of the text,
the dimension of the discourse practices, and the dimension of socio-cultural
practices in how “Kompas Daily Newspaper” March 5th-7th 2012 edition
represented the figure of honorary teacher.
The method used was critical discourse analysis. Critical discourse
analysis is a methodological instrument used to determine the relation between
text and social context with critical approach. Furthermore, the model used to
operate this method was Norman Fairclough’s. The data used for this research
were obtained from the Kompas news text, literature, document studies and indepth interview.
The result of this research determined, that the figure of honorary
teachers, were represented through choices of diction, grammatical, relational
analysis, and identities which arranged the text. Kompas interpreted honorary
teacher as a loyal and devoted figure in the world of Indonesia education.
My advice on this research is, Kompas should provide news that is equally
balanced to avoid bias, in other words, neutral. Kompas should also provide
other problems in education, so that readers could get more comprehensive
reports on education in Indonesia.
