Public Health Approach to Road Traffic Injuries,
Disabilities and Death (RTIDD)

ICS implementation through District’s BPBD and
DHO
• The Government of Indonesia has adapted the Incident Command

System to use as the basis for the management of disaster events in the
country since 2007. The Guideline on Emergency Response Command
System was among the first Chief of BNPB regulations developed in
2008.
• Despite the diversity of its implementation, the system continues to be

enhanced based on emergency response experiences in Indonesia. The
GoI also continues to develop ICS capacity in various ministries and
agencies as well as at sub-national level.
• Government is mainstreaming the command system and using it as the

backbone for emergency response it is becoming evident that a greater
understanding of the ICS is required in sub-national level stakeholders,

so they are able to understand the system and the role that they are
required to play within it in such emergency events
