Samin Culture remain survive in several areas in regency of Blora. This can be seen in the lives of local
people daily, where Samin culture values is still maintained and adapted to survive. There are unique of
Samin Community in building local food security of Samin Community, Principle of Samin community is
to achieve food needs does not have to eat rice, they still maintain food diversity. Therefore, it is
interesting to trace how communication undertaken by Samin community to build local food security.
Communication of Samin community in building social solidarity reflected in oral tradition, especially the
credibility of a communicator as a most dominant factor affecting the effectiveness of communication in
an effort to build local food security of Samin Community. Samin community assume that the parents are
as concrete example that they can be imitated because their conversation equal with its actions. At
home's of Samin elder, samin community gather to discuss about something correlating with agriculture.
Besides, at home's of Samin elder also become a place to get cue about daily life. Some things are
reflected in symbolic action in tradition of Samin Culture, such as : ‘ngersoyo’, that means helping
together with the others people in life, intelectual heritage which are handed down from generation to
generation. Samin community have local knowledge system and unique in subsystem of production,
distribution, and consumtion for building local food security.
