FORMULASI EMULSI ANTISEPTIK DARI EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN SIRIH MERAH (Piper crocatum Ruiz & Pav).
ABSTRAK
Secara empiris sirih merah (Piper crocatum Ruiz & Pav) digunakan sebagai
antiseptik alami dan telah diketahui bahwa ekstrak etanol daun sirih merah
memberikan aktivitas antimikroba terhadap kontaminan umum dari udara.
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menghasilkan sediaan emulsi antiseptik dari
ekstrak etanol daun sirih merah. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa emulsi
antiseptik dengan formula asam stearat, lanolin, larutan sorbitol, span 80, tween
60, metil paraben, propil paraben, dan air suling, memiliki konsistensi emulsi
yang baik.

ABSTRACT
Empirically, red betel (Piper crocatum Ruiz & Pav) is used as a natural
antiseptic, and has been known that ethanolic extract of red betel leaves provides
antimicrobial activity against common contaminants of the air. This study was
aimed to produce antiseptic emulsion from red betel leaf ethanolic extract. The
result showed that an antiseptic emulsion formula consist of stearic acid, lanolin,
sorbitol solution, span 80, tween 60, methyl paraben, propyl paraben, and
aquadest, had good consistency as emulsion.
