Plasticizcris an addiiivcfor plasticto improvcits clasticityand llcxibility. In this cxpcrimcnr,
the compositesbasedon chitosan-starchwere synthesizedat different weight ratios (7/3; 8/2: 9ll;
l0/0) by using 12.28-24.24% volumeof glycerolas plasticizer.This paperstudiesthe influenceof

plaslic film. The films were
observedon the aspectof mechanicalcharacteristic(tensile strength,elongationat break), and o/o
swelling.1he mechanicalcharacteristicof the film were charactenznd
by autographand swelling test.
The alteralioncf chemicalstrucfurewassfudiedb;' FTIR.
The results showed the higher of chitosan-starchratio increasedthe tensile strengh and
the elasticity of film but decreasedin % swelling. Otherwise,the addition of plasticizer increaserJ
the elaslicityof film ando/oswelling.Theseresuhssuggested
that thesetwo film formingcomponenls
were an interactionexisted,a greaterintensity was observedand the amino group band of chitosan
molecule in the FTIR spectrum shifted from 160l cm-r in the chilosan film to 1590cm-l
in compositefilms.
