PREFACE
First of all, I would like to thank to Allah SWT who has given everything so
that I can finish this final project. I also would like to say thanks to all people who
give support and guidance in finishing this final project.
This final project was made based on the job training in SDN 02 Gentungan.
This final project is entitled “Preparing English Lessons for Grade 4 Students at SDN
02 Gentungan.” This final project explains the steps in designing learning material,
learning process and solving the problem in learning process.
I realize that this final project report is far from being perfect, therefore I need
suggestions and advices to improve this final project. I hope this final project will be
beneficial for the reader to improve their knowledge about the technique in teaching
English.

ABSTRACT
Chandra Mustika Rani, 2016. Preparing English Lessons for Grade 4 Students
at SDN 02 Gentungan. English Diploma Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences,

Sebelas Maret University.
This final project report is written based on the job training at SDN 02
Gentungan. The objectives of this report are to describe the important aspects and
steps of designing English learning material, and to describe the problems and the
solutions encountered by the teacher in teaching English to grade 4 students of SDN
02 Gentungan. I did a class observation before doing the job training. I observed the
school, class condition and the way of English teaching and learning. I also made a
lesson plan before teaching.
I made the material based on the draft made English teacher of SDN 02
Gentungan. There were three steps in designing learning material for the grade 4
students of SDN 02 Gentungan, such as: determining the objective of topic, time
management and classroom activity. I combine the material with games in every
lesson to know how far the students could catch the material.
There were two problems when I gave the material to the students. The
problems were students did not understand what they should do and students who
looked sleepy and bored. Then I should become problem solver for that situation. The
way I solve those problems were by giving more explanation to the students who
were still confused with the instruction and having outdoor class.
