Berdasarkanhaltersebutmakapenelitimelaksanakanpenelitiantindakankelasuntukm
eningkatkankeaktifansiswapada
proses
pembelajaran.Padapenelitiantindakankelasinipenelitimemakai

Penelitaniniberlangsungdalam

siklusdandalamsetiapsiklusnyaterdiridariempattahapanyaituperencanaan,pelaksana

pencapaianyajugamengalamipeningkatan,halinibisadilihatdariperolehan rata-rata

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF COOPERATIVE LEARNING MODEL OF
STAD APPROACH TO IMPROVE THE UNDERSTANDING OF IPS
GRADERS V

ABSTRACT
This study in the background backs by students who lack understanding of the
problems in the process of learning social studies in class V. This occurs because
of the teachers who implement the learning process is still using a method that is
still centered on the teacher so that the communication process lasted only one
direction, as a result of the implementation of this learning process as students
become quickly bored and tired because students simply active listening. Under
these conditions, the researchers carry out action research to enhance the activity
of students in the learning process. In the study researchers used this class action
and Mc.TaggartKemmis models. This research takes place in the II cycle and in
each cycle consists of four phases: planning, implementation, observation, and
reflection. The purpose of this action research is to improve the understanding of
students in the learning process in the classroom. The results obtained in this
study the understanding of students has increased, t can be seen from the average
percentage of students' understanding in the first cycle is equal to 69%, while on

the second cycle increased to 97.1% of the acquisition value of the already meet
good or strong scale category, Another thing the assessment in this study is the
evaluation of learning pencapaianya test also increased, it can be seen from the
average acquisition value of students in cycle 1 at 66.25, while on the second
cycle increased to by 94, the acquisition value scale that it meets the criteria of a
good value. The research was initiated from the planning is to prepare a research
instrument consisting of a learning instrument and instrument data such as the

revealer of the observation sheet teacher and student activity sheets are also
indicators of student understanding along with documentation. During the
implementation phase of this research as a whole is going well it can be seen from
achieving the scale of understanding already eligible students understand the
material, Other things that factor into the success of this research is the increase in
the value of the learning evaluation tests. Seeing the achievement of the
conclusions of this research is the application of STAD cooperative learning can

enhance students 'understanding of elementary school .Berdasarkan it is suggested
to teachers and researchers concerned subsequent to implement cooperative
learning STAD as a method that can improve students' activeness in social studies
5th grade elementary school.
