Analisis Persepsi Cendikiawan Muslim Terhadap Peningkatan Potensi Ekonomi Tanah Wakaf di Kota Medan

ABSTRAK
ANALISIS PERSEPSI CENDIKIAWAN MUSLIM TERHADAP
PENINGKATAN POTENSI EKONOMI TANAH WAKAF DI KOTA MEDAN

Kota Medan memiliki persebaran tanah wakaf yang cukup baik sehingga
menciptakan potensi ekonomi yang begitu besar, tetapi potensi tersebut masih
belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal saat ini. Potensi ekonomi tanah wakaf akan
semakin baik jika peran masyarakat dan cendikiawan Muslim diikutsertakan.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persepsi cendikiawan Muslim
terhadap potensi ekonomi tanah wakaf di Kota Medan, memastikan apakah
potensi tersebut dapat ditingkatkan serta mengetahui hambatan dan kendala yang
akan dihadapi.
Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dengan
mendeskripsikan sikap atau jawaban responden terhadap pertanyaan-pertanyaan
yang terdapat dalam kuisioner, kemudian mendistribusikannya ke dalam bentuk
tabel dan menilainya apakah terdapat potensi ekonomi tanah wakaf yang dapat
dikembangkan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan penyebaran
kuesioner kepada 30 responden yaitu cendikiawan Muslim di Kota Medan.
Hasil penelitian mendapati bahwa cendikiawan Muslim berpresepsi tanah
wakaf di Kota Medan sangat memiliki potensi ekonomi untuk ditingkatkan,
sehingga dapat berdampak pada aspek ekonomi Islam serta menghasilkan manfaat

yang bertambah dari waktu ke waktu. Namun, ada hambatan dan kendala yang
dapat membuat potensi tanah wakaf tidak bisa ditingkatkan. Hambatan itu berasal
dari masyarakat berupa kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat tentang wakaf,
kerjasama antara wakif dan masyarakat, sumber daya manusia dan inisiatif nazhir
untuk mengelola. Hambatan yang lain berasal dari pemerintah berupa kurangnya
dukungan dari pemerintah (Kementrian Agama) terhadap wakaf dan sosialisasi
terhadap masyarakat dan pihak pihak terkait.

THE ANALYSIS OF MUSLIM SCHOLARS PERCEPTION TO INCREASE
THE ECONOMIC POTENTIAL OF BENEFACTION IN MEDAN

Medan has distribution of benefaction passably that creates economic
potential is so great, but the potential has still not been used optimally today. The

economic potential of benefaction would be better if the role of society and
Muslim scholars included in. The study aims was to know the perception of
Muslim Scholars to the economic potential of benefaction in Medan and ascertain
whether this potential can be increased and to know the barriers and obstacles to
be faced.
Research method is descriptive analysis to describe the answers or the
respondents to the questions in the questionnaire, then distribute them into tables
and assess them whether there is the economic potential of benefaction. The
techniques of data collection is done by spreading questionnaire to 30 respondents
is Muslim Scholars in Medan.
The results shows that the perception of Muslim scholars to benefaction in
Medan has economic potential to be increased, so that it can be impacted on the
economic aspects of Islam and produce the benefits that accrue from time to time.
However, there are barriers and obstacles that can create the potential benefaction
can’t be increased. The obstacle comes from the society that are form of lack of
public knowledge about endowments, cooperation between wakif and society,
human resources and initiatives from nazhir to manage. Another obstacle comes
from the government that are form of lack of support from the government
(Ministry of Religion) of the benefaction and socialization to the society and the
parties related.
