ABSTRACT THE EFFECTIVENESS OF O-BINGO GAME IN TEACHING ENGLISH

VOCABULARY AT GRADE FOUR AT SDN 2 PURBALINGGA LOR

IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2010/2011 by: Atika Rahayu Permatasari

0901050034 The aim of the research is to find out whether teaching English vocabulary by using O-Bingo game to the fourth grade students of SDN 2 Purbalingga Lor in the academic year 2010/2011 is effective or not.

This research was held in February until April 2011. The sample was 45 students. The writer used one group pre-test–post-test design for the method. In collecting the data, the writer used test as an instrument.

After the writer got the result of computation, the writer compared it with the t-table values. The result of t-test (2.4083) was greater than that of the t-table at the df = 44, with α= 0.05 which was 2.0154. It means that teaching vocabulary using O-Bingo game to the fourth grade students of SDN 2 Purbalingga Lor in the academic year 2010/2011 was effective, and the hypothesis was accepted. xii
