Abstract
The aim of the study was to assesssubgingivalcalculusand alveolarbone height in cigaretteand ketek smokers.
Subjectsweredivided into threegroups,cigarettesmokers(n=10),kreteksmokers(n=10) and non-smokers(n=10).The
assessmentsof subgingival calculus and alveolar bone height were done by means of Orthopantomogram
(OPG/PanoramicDigial using examiner'sblindness.The resultsshowedthat the meanssubgingivalcalculusload in
cigarette,ketek and non-smokerswere 29.3Vo,22.8Voand l0.lVo, respe*tively,while the meansof alveolarboneheight

were 72.7Vo,75.3Voand 83.IVo,respectively.Smokersversusnon-smokershad more subgingivalcalculusand lower
