Overview challenges from 13 participating
countries
- Legislative framework is required
- Increase in diagnostic capacity such as bio-banking and bio-informatics
- Establishment of EQA system and accreditation
- Monitoring and maintenance service for biomedical engineering (such as biosafety cabinet)
- Establishment of regional database for sharing information
- Linking information between human and animal health sectors
(14)
Overview challenges from panelist discussion
- Shortage of qualified and well-trained laboratory
personnel
- Resource constraints and lack of infrastructure:
peripheral areas
- Notification system for medical conditions:
sub-optimal
- Public-private partnership on laboratory
- Laboratory capacity (infrastructure, laboratory QA
programme & performance and bio- sample
management)
- Data sharing system (improve operability
including inter-laboratory referral system)
(15)
• GHSA Detect-1 is able to accelerate the political
commitment, stakeholder engagement, collaboration for animal and human health sectors and the utilization of GHSA roadmap & action plan.
• Providing training opportunities and capacity building
for the countries needed.
• Developing for sustainable systems & policies based on
national/regional priorities
• Enhancing Integrated laboratory networks

Packages such as Zoonosis, etc.
•
Joint External Evaluation
involving a combination
of domestic and independent experts
will be
promoted as a monitoring and evaluation tool
