ABSTRAK
Skripsi ini berjudul “Perbandingan Sosialisme Joseph Stalin dan Leon Trotsky di Uni
Soviet 1924-1929”. Permasalahan utama yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini, bagaimana
perbandingan sosialisme Stalin dan Trotsky di Uni Soviet 1924-1929? Tujuan penelitian
ini, antara lain; Mendeskripsikan perkembangan awal sosialisme di Uni Soviet,
mendeskripsikan latar belakang kehidupan Stalin dan Trotsky, menganalisis
perbandingan sosialisme Stalin dengan Trotsky, serta dampak pemikiran Joseph Stalin
dan Leon Trotsky terhadap pemerintahan Uni Soviet 1924-1929. Dalam penelitian ini,
menggunakan metode historis dan pendekatan interdisipliner seperti ilmu politik dan
sosiologi, serta studi literatur dalam mengkaji pemikiran Stalin dan Trotsky. Berdasarkan
kajian penelitian yang telah dilakukan, kondisi Rusia pasca kematian Lenin sangat
memprihatinkan terutama pada aspek perekonomiannya. Dari hasil penelitian ketika
Lenin meninggal, dalam Partai Komunis Uni Soviet terdapat dua calon pengganti yaitu
Stalin dan Trotsky. Kedua tokoh tersebut merupakan penganut paham Marx dan Lenin
memiliki pandangan berbeda mengenai langkah selanjutnya dalam membangun
sosialisme yang terjadi pada tahun 1924 di Uni Soviet. Stalin memandang sosialisme bisa
didirikan di satu negara yaitu Uni Soviet, namun Trotsky memiliki pandangan lain,
sosialisme di Uni Soviet akan sukses bila revolusi sosialis yang telah berhasil di Uni
Soviet, dilanjutkan ke seluruh Eropa. Selain perbedaan mengenai revolusi, dalam
mewujudkan revolusi tersebut kedua tokoh memiliki perbedaan pandangan, Stalin
memandang perlu adanya kediktatoran terutama kediktatoran partai sedangkan Trotsky
memandang kediktatoran tersebut harus bersikap demokratis. Stalin kemudian menjadi
pemimpin dan memegang kekuasaan penuh sedangkan Trotsky diasingkan dari Uni
Soviet. Perbedaan pandangan antara dua tokoh tersebut berdampak pada ideologi resmi
Uni Soviet dan kebijakan perekonomian di Uni Soviet.

ABSTRACT
This research entitled "Comparison between Joseph Stalin and Leon Trotsky Socialism in
the Soviet Union 1924-1929". Background of the study was how it compares to socialism
of Joseph Stalin and Leon Trotsky in the Soviet Union 1924-1929? The aim of the study
were: describing the early development of socialism in the Soviet Union, describing the
background of the life of Stalin and Trotsky, analyzing the comparison between Stalin’s
socialism with Trotsky’s, and the impact of Stalin’s and Trotsky’s to the government of
the Soviet Union 1924-1929. A historical method was used in this study, also
interdisciplinary approaches such as political science and sociology, as well as the study
of literature in assessing Stalin and Trotsky ideas. Based on the research, the Russian
government was very problematic after Lenin’s death, particularly in the aspect of
economy. When Lenin died, the Communist Party of the Soviet Union had two
candidates for his replacement; Stalin and Trotsky. Both of them were follower of Marx
and Lenin, have different views on the next steps in developing socialism which occurred
in 1924 in the Soviet Union. Stalin argued that socialism can be established in a country
that is the Soviet Union, but Trotsky has another point of view, socialism in the Soviet
Union will be succeed if the socialist revolution that has succeeded in the Soviet Union,
continued throughout Europe. Besides the difference on the revolution, they have
different views in realizing the revolution, Stalin argued the dictatorship is needed;
especially party dictatorship while Trotsky argued the dictatorship must be democratic.
Stalin became the leader and had full control while Trotsky was exiled from the Soviet
Union. The differences between the two leaders opinion have impact on the official
ideology and the economic policy in the Soviet Union.
