ABSTRAK
UPAYA PENINGKATAN ENVIRONMENTAL LITERACY PESERTA
DIDIK DI SEKOLAH ADIWIYATA
(Studi Inkuiri Naturalistik di SD Negeri 138 Pekanbaru)

Penelitian ini merupakan studi inkuiri naturalistik dalam upaya peningkatan
environmental literacy peserta didik di sekolah Adiwiyata. Wujud dari
pelaksanaan pendidikan lingkungan hidup di sekolah adalah adanya program
Adiwiyata sebagai program yang lebih terencana. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SD
Negeri 138 Pekanbaru sebagai Sekolah Adiwiyata Nasional. Tujuan dari
penelitian ini yaitu, untuk mengetahui upaya peningkatan environmental literacy
peserta didik di sekolah Adiwiyata. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan
kualitatif, data diperoleh dengan cara melakukan observasi, wawancara, dan
dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa upaya peningkatan environmental
literacy peserta didik di SD Negeri 138 Pekanbaru yaitu, melalui keadaan
lingkungan fisik, keadaan lingkungan non fisik, program Adiwiyata, dan kegiatan
pembelajaran. Upaya peningkatan enviromental literacy peserta didik di SD
Negeri 138 Pekanbaru melalui keadaan lingkungan fisik lebih didominasi oleh
bukti fisik keberadaan program Adiwiyata, melalui keadaan lingkungan non fisik
lebih didominasi oleh budaya sekolah yang merupakan budaya lingkungan,
melalui program Adiwiyata yaitu dengan pemenuhan empat komponen

Adiwiyata, melalui kegiatan pembelajaran yaitu dengan mengintegrasikan
lingkungan ke dalam pembelajaran.

EFFORT IN IMPROVING THE ENVIRONMENTAL LIETARCY OF
STUDENTS IN ADIWIYATA SCHOOL
(Study of Naturalistic Inquiry in SD Negeri 138 Pekanbaru)

This research is a study of naturalistic inquiry in effort to increase environmental
literacy of students in Adiwiyata school. The realization of environmental
education implementation in school is Adiwiyata’s program as a more planned
program. This study was conducted in SD Negeri 138 Pekanbaru as a National
Adwiyata school. The purpose of this study is to find out the efforts to increase
the student’s environmental literacy in Adiwiyata school. This study used a
qualitative approach, the data was obtained by observations, interviews, and

documentations. The result shows that the efforts to increase learners’s
environmental literacy in SD Negeri 138 Pekanbaru is through the situation of the
physical environment, the situation of non-physical environment, Adiwiyata’s
program, and learning activities. The student’s efforts to improve enviromental
literacy in SD Negeri 138 Pekanbaru through the situation of the physical
environment is dominated by the physical evidence of the existence of the
program Adiwiyata, while the situation of non-physical environment is dominated
by school culture which is a culture environment, through the Adiwiyata program
is the implementtion of four Adiwiyata’s components, and the last is through
learning activities which is integrating the environment into the learning activities.
