Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana situasi komunikatif, peristiwa
komunikatif, dan tindak komunikatif yang terjadi dalam konteks komunikasi pendidikan
antara kakak-kakak pengajar dan adik-adik “anak jalanan” di komunitas Save Street Child
Bandung. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitiatif dengan
pendekatan etnografi komunikasi. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui observasi,
wawancara mendalam, dan analisis dokumen. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis
dengan model SPEAKING Grid dari Dell Hymes.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa situasi komunikatif antara kakak-kakak dan
adik-adik SSCB dominan terjadi di lokasi KBM baik di daerah Buah Batu maupun daerah
BIP. Peristiwa komunikatif yang terjadi secara berulang adalah : bermain sebelum KBM,
shalat Ashar berjamaah, pelaksanaan KBM, evaluasi KBM, pembagian susu dan snack, dan
jargon “SSCB Joss”. Tindakan komunikatif yang terjadi seperti hubungan kakak dan adik ,
misalnya memangku, menggendong, dan adik mencium tangan kakak.

Between Street Children Care Community and Street Children. Dr. Atwar Bajari, M.Si, as
the Main Adviser and H. Hadi Suprapto Arifin, Drs. M.Si as the Second Adviser.
The purposes of this study were to describes how the communicative situation,
communicative behaviour, and communicative act, occurs in educational communication
context between kakak-kakak and adik-adik at Save Street Child Bandung Community. The
method used in this study was qualitative approach with ethnographic communication. Data
was collected through observation, in-deep interview, and document analysis. Data was
analyzed by using SPEAKING Grid model of Dell Hymes.
The result of this study indicated that the communicative situation mostly occured in

the learning-teaching locations of Buah Batu and around Bandung Indah Plaza.
Communicative acts that mostly happened were as follows : playing before learning and
teaching activity, praying Ashar together, evaluating the learning and teaching activities,
giving milk and snack to adik-adik, and jargon “SSCB Joss”. Communicative behavior
happened as how older and younger brothers relationship such as holding on his lap,
carrying on the back and hand kissing.
