ABSTRACT
In thesis entitled An Analysis of Code Switching and Code Mixing Used in Talk Show Hitam
Putih, the author analyzes two types of code switching and code based on two types of mixed
Wardaugh theory. The fourth type can be determined by the use of more than one language in
an utterance. The purpose of this thesis is to find the types of code switching and code mixing
contained in the speech Deddy Corbuzier as presenter in Talk Show Hitam Putih and Nadya
Hutagalung as a celebrity guest. Steps taken by the author in completing this thesis was
watching a talk show Hitam Putih on Trans 7, then download a YouTube video which is
recording Talk Show Hitam Putih, Nadya Hutagalung as a celebrity guest, then listen the
speech in the video over and over and transribe the utterance into a script whish is required as
data, then the data were analyzed with descriptive qualitative method. Then the results of the
analysis will be displayed and analyzed in terms of percentage based formula Bungin. The
author uses 188 data from the speech of Deddy Cobuzier as presenter Talk Show Hitam Putih
and Nadya Hutagalung as a celebrity guest. Analysis focused on two types of code switching
is situational code switching and metaphorical code switching, and two types of code that is
inter-sententian code mixing and intra-sentential code mixing. Results of the analysis
revealed that there are 188 utterances which are code switching and code mixing. Results
obtained percentage is 46 speech situational code switching (42, 59%), 62 utterances
metaphorical code switching (57, 41%), inter-sentential code mixing 9 speech (11, 25%) and
intra-sentential code mixing 71 speech (88, 75%). Authors also found an interference that
occurs because of code mixing.

Dalam skripsi yang berjudul An Analysis of Code Switching and Code Mixing used in Talk
Show Hitam Putih ini, penulis menganalisis dua tipe alih kode dan dua tipe campur kode
berdasarkan teori Wardaugh. Keempat tipe ini dapat ditentukan berdasarkan digunakannya
lebih dari satu bahasa dalam satu ujaran. Tujuan penulisan skripsi ini adalah menemukan
jenis – jenis alih kode dan campur kode yang terdapat pada ujaran Deddy Corbuzier sebagai
presenter Talk Show Hitam Putih dan Nadya Hutagalung sebagai bintang tamu. Langkah
yang dilakukan penulis dalam menyelesaikan skripsi ini adalah menonton Talk Show Hitam
Putih di Trans 7, kemudian mendownload video youtube yang merupakan rekaman acara
Talk Show Hitam Putih episode Nadya Hutagalung sebagai bintang tamu, kemudian
mendengarkan ujaran di dalam video tersebut secara berulang dan menuliskan ujaran – ujaran
yang diperlukan sebagai data, selanjutnya data dianalisis dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif.
Kemudian hasil analisis akan ditampilkan dan dianalisis dalam bentuk persentase berdasarkan
formula Bungin. Penulis menggunakan 188 data dari ujaran Deddy Cobuzier sebagai
presenter Talk Show Hitam Putih dan Nadya Hutagalung sebagai tamu selebritis. Analisis
difokuskan pada dua tipe alih kode yaitu alih kode situational dan alih kode metaphorical,
dan dua tipe campur kode yaitu campur kode inter-sentential dan campur kode intrasentential. Hasil dari analisis mengungkapkan bahwa terdapat 188 ujaran yang merupakan
alih kode dan campur kode. Hasil persentasi yang didapat adalah alih kode situational 46
ujaran (42, 59%), alih kode metaphorical 62 ujaran (57, 41%), campur kode inter-sentential 9
ujaran (11, 25%) dan campur kode intra-sentential 71 ujaran (88, 75%). Penulis juga
menemukan gangguan bahasa yang terjadi sebagai akibat dari campur kode.
